How does the fraud prevention work?

The system generates a dynamic QR code and a temporary ID that refreshes regularly. Partners scan the QR and match it against the current ID in real time. Since the ID changes faster than anyone can spoof it, Photoshop fraud becomes mathematically impossible.

What happens if a partner loses internet?

The verification app requires a live connection to validate the QR code against the current temporary ID. For offline scenarios, partners can use the visual match as a fallback and confirm digitally once reconnected.

Can the QR code be copied?

Even if someone screenshots or copies the QR code, it will only be valid for the current refresh window. Once the temporary ID rotates, any copied version becomes instantly invalid.

How long did it take to build?

Eliminated manual photo back-and-forth and Photoshop fraud on Muchiler's biggest revenue product.

The Challenge

The Muchicard is Muchiler's flagship product — a discount card that gives travelers exclusive perks with partner businesses. But it had two costly problems.

First, the registration process accepted photos that were often invalid (wrong format, low quality, cut-off faces), forcing the team into manual email back-and-forth with every applicant.

Second — and more serious — the card was being defrauded: people copied real Muchicards, swapped names and photos in Photoshop, and presented them at partner businesses. Each fraudulent use cost Muchiler revenue and trust.

The Solution

We replaced the entire workflow with a connected system of one Make.com scenario orchestrating three custom web apps:

Registration app with smart photo validation — Rejects invalid images at the point of capture — no more manual email loops.

Cardholder identification app — Generates a dynamic QR code and a temporary ID for the cardholder, refreshed regularly.

Partner verification app — Partners scan the QR code and match it against the temporary ID in real time, instantly confirming whether the card is authentic.

Photoshop fraud becomes mathematically impossible. The temporary ID changes faster than anyone can spoof it.
